Gundi kommt. Hat sie sich umgezogen? Gekämmt? Hoppla – sie hat die Maultaschen dabei.
„Gundi, es ist das Paradies!“, rufe ich und hebe die Arme. Sie bleibt abrupt stehen, starrt mich an.
„Sind bestimmt deshalb hier hängengeblieben, ihre Vorfahren. Diesen Drang hatten wir Deutschen halt schon immer. Sich an fernen Küsten niederlassen und – äh –“
Sie haut den Teller auf den Tisch und glotzt ganz böse. Dann schiebt sie langsam eine Hand in die Schürzentasche, zögert kurz – und setzt sich in einen der Plastikstühle.
„Also“, sage ich verdattert, „genau! Setzen Sie sich doch!“
Sie verzieht keine Miene, lehnt sich zurück und zündet eine Kippe an. Dann wedelt sie auffordernd mit der freien Hand. Ich stopfe mir die erste Maultasche in den Mund und kaue, kaue, kaue,
schlucke sie herunter.
„Köstlich“, sage ich und Gundi grinst zufrieden und ich noch eine Maultasche hinterher. Sie ist schon ein bisschen steif, die Gute, aber ich glaube, wir würden uns eigentlich schon verstehen
...
„Ach Gundi, Sie haben’s wirklich gut“, sage ich und hebe die Arme wieder, „sehen Sie sich doch nur mal um!“
Ihrerseits nur Qualm, keine Reaktion. Aber, wenn ich mich umschaue, sehe ich Tausend Glühwürmchen glimmen in einem Avocado-Baum – und Hunde jaulen und jagen über gesprenkelten Sand und überall
ist Tod und Hass und Fortpflanzung in derselben Sekunde und:
„Wie sie plötzlich über uns hereingebrochen ist, die Dunkelheit! Faszinierend, nicht wahr?“ Ich haue auf den Tisch: „Menschenskind! Und Tag für Tag dasselbe Spiel und immer stößt der Pazifik auf
dasselbe Land und rauscht und – um die Lampions überall Nachtfalter und verpuffen, wenn sie dem Licht zu nahe kommen, krepieren am Boden oder Geckos kommen sie holen, die Genießer, schlingen sie
runter ...“
Ich starre sie an. „Irre!“, rufe ich, aber von ihr kein Wort. Dann flüstere ich: „Das Leben ...“, eine unbestimmte Handbewegung, „nicht wahr?“
Stille. Sie kapiert’s nicht. Kennt es nur so. Aber wie es scheint, hört sie mir gerne zu. Und vielleicht versteht sie es ja doch – nur eben irgendwie anders.
